Job Summary


The Home for Little Wanderers seeks a skilled Morning Mental Health Technician I to join our interdisciplinary team in Walpole, MA. As a Mental Health Technician I, you will contribute to providing short-term mental health crisis stabilization services for youth aged 13-18.


Key Responsibilities



  • Maintain a safe environment for youth and work collaboratively with the team to provide therapeutic support.
  • Foster healthy relationships with youth through daily interactions and assist in providing a therapeutic milieu environment.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of daily living, including hygiene, laundry, and chores, while meeting the physical and emotional needs of youth.
  • Plan and participate in activities with youth on an individual and small group level, in accordance with treatment plans and goals.
  • Participate in creating client treatment plans and ensure implementation of goals, objectives, and interventions within the milieu.
  • Provide First Aid as needed and communicate with other program staff on positive skills and accomplishments as well as challenging client issues.
  • Complete assigned paperwork, including time sheets, incident reports, and required logs, in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Attend required meetings and actively participate in supervision and training opportunities.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma required.
  • One year of work experience in a residential, inpatient, or other mental health setting with a similar population of youth preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Edge, with the ability to learn new software applications.
