Job Title: Senior Power System Controls Engineer, Energy Products

At Tesla, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Power System Controls Engineer to join our Energy Products team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance microgrid controls for our energy ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with firmware/software, hardware, and product teams to define new features and develop the controls strategy and algorithms.
  • Utilize simulations (Matlab/Simulink) and hardware-in-loop to develop new algorithms, and test/investigate corner-case events.
  • Clearly and concisely present and document designs to gather organization buy-in.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with microgrids, such as generator dispatch and protection coordination.
  • Experience with modeling, model development and simulations of inverter-based generation (Simulink preferred).
  • Ability to work cross functionally with customers, engineering, business development, and deployment personnel.
  • Comfort working with uncertainty.
