Job Summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets Patients: Professionally and courteously greet all patients who enter the clinic, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Obtains Patient Information: Accurately and efficiently obtains demographic and billing information from patients to facilitate timely and accurate billing procedures.
  • Registers Patients: Photocopies patients' insurance cards, obtains signatures, and performs registration protocol to ensure patients are properly checked in.
  • Answers Phones: Responds to phone calls in a timely and professional manner, providing excellent customer service to patients and staff.
  • Schedules Appointments: Schedules appointments and reviews provider schedules to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Reviews Medical Records: Has a general understanding of medical records and follows written protocol to ensure confidentiality, legal, and payment rules are upheld.
  • Participates in Patient-Centered Care: Fully participates and contributes to patient-centered healthcare, providing a positive and supportive experience for patients.
  • Performs Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Customer service experience required; administrative or medical office experience preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Requirements
  • Compliance: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
  • Training: Complete job-required training.
  • Laws and Regulations: Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, and employment laws.
  • Attendance: Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Travel: Travel independently throughout the clinic, including movement from floor to floor.
  • Communication: Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Workload: Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of daily operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Equipment Operation: Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
  • Independence: Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Travel to Other Locations: Travel to other work locations, if required.
