Job Summary

The Shipping Supervisor role is responsible for managing and leading the Shipping department to ensure quality, safety and accountability of people and processes.

The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) + years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, and at least one (1) to 2 (2) years of warehouse, transportation, and/or logistics experience, preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with plant scheduling to ensure on time shipment of orders, collaborating with third party logistics shuttling services for movement of trailers and finished goods, managing the inventory movement within warehouses and outbound, leading daily and mandatory staff meeting, ensuring accountability of staff to safety, quality, and standards, gathering and reporting shipping information to appropriate levels of leadership, supporting safety, quality, and production initiatives to achieve goals, conducting inventory audits, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area, and maintaining effective communication with operators and plant supervision.

The Shipping Supervisor will also be responsible for immediately addressing and reporting safety issues or hazards, and for having a forklift certification, maintaining an excellent driving record and having a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with plant scheduling to ensure on time shipment of orders
  • Collaborate with third party logistics shuttling services for movement of trailers and finished goods
  • Manage the inventory movement within warehouses and outbound
  • Lead daily and mandatory staff meeting
  • Ensure accountability of staff to safety, quality, and standards
  • Gather and report shipping information to appropriate levels of leadership
  • Support safety, quality, and production initiatives to achieve goals
  • Conduct inventory audits
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area
  • Maintain effective communication with operators and plant supervision
  • Immediately address and report safety issues or hazards
Requirements
  • At least three (3) + years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • At least one (1) to 2 (2) years of warehouse, transportation, and/or logistics experience, preferred
  • Inventory management experience
  • Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Proficient in basic computer operation and data entry; some experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Teams and warehouse management systems
  • Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
  • Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)
