Job Title: Information Systems Manager

Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Manager to lead our Information Technology Department, Development Group, and Desktop Publishing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision, implementation, and maintenance of our computing needs, ensuring the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware, and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the staff and daily operations of the Information Technology Department, Development Group, and Desktop Publishing Department.
  • Manage the helpdesk system for efficiency and accuracy in responses.
  • Ensure workstation connectivity to any networked resource vis-à-vis the first three layers of the OSI model.
  • Manage network infrastructure problem determination and resolution.
  • Manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of network cabling, switches, routers, and related equipment and software.
  • Provide design and management services for the expansion and extension of the network infrastructure.
  • Collect and evaluate system performance statistics and provide timely recommendations for system improvements and changes based on this data.
  • Maintain all maintenance contracts associated with the network infrastructure.
  • Manage user security as it pertains to user access to the infrastructure.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all items related to the network infrastructure, including cables, switches, and routers.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation for all network systems and procedures related to the network infrastructure.
  • Maintain CLIU #21 network infrastructure hardware and software standards.
  • Provide timely recommendations concerning the application of new and existing technology to improve the services delivered via the network infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent related professional experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of programming experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in support of local and wide area network infrastructures.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience with network system administration and supporting end users.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in direct management responsibility for local and wide area network infrastructures.
  • Minimum two (2) years' supervisory experience, preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of local and wide area network infrastructure design, management, operations, and administration, Windows and Mac devices, TCP/IP, Gigabit switched Ethernet, network management software, and multi-protocol network administration.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of student and financial software applications that school districts need for child accounting, financial accounting, and student scheduling.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of network-based applications software.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Reader.
  • Demonstrates leadership ability.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make professional decisions.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to oversee and/or complete multiple responsibilities at one time.

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of budgeting.
  • Demonstrates the ability to act as a liaison with constituent school districts and agencies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with staff, co-workers, community members, parents, board members, school districts, and administration.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and adhere to operational systems and protocols.
