Job Overview

Qualis Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Configuration and Change Management Specialist to support the planning and execution of audits of configuration data and validate enterprise configuration management items, databases, and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing requests for verification and audits, consulting with key stakeholders to ensure process and procedure continuity, and supporting configuration verifications, audits, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process change requests, impact evaluations, and Configuration Control Board (CCB) for the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
  • Focus on the attributes and relationships of Configuration Items (CIs) maintained in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and responsible for Configuration Identification
  • Administer and support the construction of the Configuration Management System (CMS), including CI types, naming conventions, attributes, and relationships
  • Support the procurement of IT assets when requested
  • Support the tagging and tracking of all IT assets and support the location and identification of their owners
  • Receive IT assets, when requested, and ensure delivery to correct locations
  • Ensure developers and configuration system users comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, life cycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases, and templates
  • Identify assets within the CMS
  • Control the receipt, identification, storage, and withdrawal of all supported CIs via authorized/approved Change Requests (CRs)
  • Provide information on the status of all CIs
  • Number, record, store, and distribute Configuration Management Data Management (CfM) issues
  • Perform configuration audits to ensure physical inventory is consistent with the CMDB/CMS, initiating corrective action through Change Control
  • Use the CMDB/CMS to help identify other CIs affected by a fault which is affecting a CI
  • Assist the Enterprise Engineer in report definitions as required
  • Support CI Owners in CI process and in support of Configuration Control activities
  • Maintain configuration identification architecture, including categorization, attributes, relationships, and naming conventions
  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design, and modeling techniques and principles, and a detailed knowledge of IT service, system, infrastructure, and CMS/CMDB architectures
  • Use logical models of configuration classes, attributes, and relationships to contribute to the development of the information model for the CMS
  • Consult on technical aspects of CfM (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.)
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Manager Level - 4 to 7 years' experience in configuration management required
  • Analyst Level - 0-4 years of experience in IT process/configuration management required
  • Must hold an active DoD Secret security clearance
  • 2+ years of JIRA experience preferred
