About the Role:
The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day financial accounting and reporting activities of Safran Federal Systems. This position will ensure compliance with accounting regulations and reporting requirements, while also leading the monthly financial close/reporting process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Lead the monthly financial close/reporting process, including compilation of internal financial statements for management and external reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts and ad-hoc reports to support informed decision-making by senior management.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Review and approve vendor payments on a weekly basis.
- Supervise and lead a team of staff accounting professionals, assigning tasks and responsibilities, providing guidance, and evaluating performance.
- Foster a positive work environment and facilitate team development.
- Support internal and external audits as conducted by the Controller.
- Cultivate a strong internal control culture to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Liaise with the Controller to support the company's strategy and vision.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy and completeness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field, with a proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
