Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides daily support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This role involves developing meaningful relationships, providing a safe living environment, teaching daily living skills, and assisting with tasks such as cooking, housekeeping, and personal care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Provide transportation to activities and appointments, using company vehicles or personal vehicles.
  • Manage difficult situations effectively, resolving minor issues and escalating to supervisors as needed.
  • Document all activities, including medication administration, daily household chores, and support in the community.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work with individuals with varying abilities, ages, cultures, and ethnicities.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical work, including household chores and personal cares.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English and competence with typing and documentation standards.
