About the Role
Eide Bailly is seeking a highly skilled Audit Manager to join our team. As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for supervising complex audits and completing audit workpapers to achieve objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise complex audits and complete audit workpapers to achieve objectives.
- Outline engagement objectives, issues, findings, and recommendations in a variety of client situations.
- Review work papers, including the audit of the SFA cluster, and financial statements prior to Partner involvement.
- Manage client relationships with integrity by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
- Evaluate the costs, benefits, and risks of alternative solutions to client problems or needs.
- Provide feedback to develop the audit practice, with a specific focus on our higher education practice.
- Capitalize on personal and professional experiences to develop business and practice lines.
- Supervise and delegate duties to Associate and Senior Associate level staff.
- Provide mentoring and technical training for staff in the audit department, including training specific to the SFA cluster.
- May assist with client billings to ensure they reflect work performed.
- Participate in the area of business development within the higher education community.
- Participate in community organizations and industry functions that will enhance our practice in the higher education space.
- Ensure timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
- Maintain compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles, especially in higher education.
- Critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Skilled in networking and developing business.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and calculators.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of audit experience in public accounting focused on higher education, which is required.
- Valid Certified Public Accountant license required.
- Experience performing external audits for higher education institutions, including the audit of the SFA cluster.
- Authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
