**Job Description:** We are seeking a highly skilled Soil and Concrete Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Thompson Engineering in Knoxville, TN. As a leading provider of quality assurance services for construction projects, we require an experienced professional to ensure the highest standards of materials testing and inspection.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and testing soil, asphalt, and concrete materials according to company and client-specific guidelines. A strong understanding of ACI Level I certification and nuclear gauge safety training is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a 40 lb. nuclear gauge to run tests on construction materials.
  • Obtain concrete samples from ready mix trucks.
  • Make concrete test cylinders.
  • Run tests on concrete samples and deliver them to the laboratory.
  • Observe and record construction crew performance data for related activities.
  • Perform visual inspection of rebar.
  • Obtain and deliver soil samples from the jobsite to the laboratory.
  • Interact with clients and contractors in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Maintain company-owned equipment in good working order for use on projects and/or assignments.
  • Implement standards for quality and quantity of work on all work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months of experience in construction material testing.
  • ACI Level I certification.
  • Nuclear gauge certified required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
