Position Overview: The Private Company team at RSM is seeking a proactive Senior Tax Manager to enhance our growing Business Tax practice. Our Private Company practice is built on strong relationships and a profound understanding of our clients' needs. We focus on closely held businesses and their owners, while also supporting ultra-high net worth individuals and small family offices. Our holistic approach involves collaborating with our clients' professional advisors to create tailored, comprehensive solutions.
Your Role: As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advising business owner clients on a wide range of business and tax opportunities, including succession planning, wealth transfer strategies, and tax compliance. You will manage and oversee the engagement team, focusing on various taxation structures, including Partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation, as well as Individual and Fiduciary Taxation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice to clients on business and tax strategies.
- Lead and manage the engagement team in executing client tax engagements.
- Collaborate with RSM specialists on Estate and Gift Planning, State and Local Taxation, and International Taxation.
- Offer leadership and mentorship to team members, serving as a Career Advisor with constructive performance feedback.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities with existing clients and prospects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other professional advisors through a commitment to exceptional service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, with some travel required based on client needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA license, licensed J.D., or Enrolled Agent in your principal place of business.
- A minimum of 7 years of public accounting experience with a focus on taxation, including management of client engagements.
- Proficiency in entity taxation and individual taxation.
- Familiarity with Fiduciary, Gift, and Estate Taxation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- LL.M. in taxation or a Master's in Taxation.
- Experience in private client or business taxation with a desire to enhance skills in this area.
Compensation: RSM offers a competitive benefits and compensation package, including flexibility in your schedule to balance personal and professional demands. The salary range for this role is $122,300 - $245,900, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
