Job Description and Qualifications:

At Air Products, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance and inspection performed both in-house and by vendors. This role interfaces closely with Manufacturing, Product Management, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and serves as a liaison between the company and vendors working closely with Quality Management and Supplier Quality Management to ensure product and service compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Manager, Quality Control Supervisor, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure in-house and vendor inspections and compliance, solve issues, and assist in continual improvement activities pertaining to all Gardner PA Facilities.
  • Assist with internal and external training to improve testing methods, processes, and procedures.
  • Communicate with vendors and perform inspections at vendor locations.
  • Periodically verify vendor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance to Gardner's quality and manufacturing procedures.
  • Submit inspection reports (vendor and in-shop), NCR/Variation to QC Supervisor for review and enter variations where necessary.
  • Work with vendors and Quality Management to ensure vendor issues are addressed and root cause analyses performed where appropriate.
  • Review and verify vendor evacuation logs to ensure testing process, readings, and procedures are in compliance as per Gardner quality requirements.
  • Ensure vendors utilize correct revision of drawings, procedure, and specifications.
  • Inspect welds, dimension, paint, and overall quality of the tanks.
  • Review vendor's WQTR, WPS/PQR, and ensure qualified welders perform welding on projects.
  • Review/Verify Mill Test Reports (MTR) for the material being used by vendors for manufacturing.
  • Work with vendors to ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner and evaluate vendor overall quality of workmanship.
  • Review, gather, and maintain required documentation from manufacturing and vendors for job-specific requirements (e.g., Evacuation logs, VJ pipe testing, 3-way assembly, Pallet, and frame, etc.).
  • Perform inspection in manufacturing and post-manufacturing to ensure compliance to internal, external, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform receiving inspection on vendor finished work to ensure the weld quality, dimensional measurements, paint, etc.
  • Conduct and/or participate in audits.
  • Lead and/or participate in improvement teams and investigations (RCA).
  • Maintain records as per record requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of Associate's or Technical degree in a related field.
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Manufacturing, quality management, and root cause analysis experience required.
  • Working knowledge of ASME and welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Working knowledge of cryogenic pressure vessels (e.g., vacuum, leak integrity, etc.).
  • Proficient in MS Office applications required.
  • Proven leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated, detail, results-oriented with strong execution, organization, and communication (verbal and written) skills demonstrated experience.
  • Ability to travel locally 30-40% with occasional overnight travel approximately 5% as needed.
