About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team at Avantor. As a key member of our Lab and Production Services team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional support to our customers by performing customized laboratory operations and research protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities under close supervision.
- Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations, including media and buffer preparation, solvent and reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, and physical testing.
- Witness experiments conducted by senior staff members.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and labeling, ensuring accurate documentation of chemical reagents, glassware, and gas cylinder levels.
- Verify and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment, such as balances, pH meters, sonicators, and glassware washers, to uphold operational standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- 1-2 years of equivalent experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of laboratory equipment and/or college degree preferred.
- Excellent understanding of laboratory operations and knowledge of biological and/or chemical processes.
- Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills.
- Knowledge of sterile handling techniques a plus.
- Microsoft Teams experience preferred.
