About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
  • Logistics and Inventory Management: Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracking product production, consumption, and waste, and informing the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information directly to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: 2+ years of experience in a catering or hotel kitchen, with a focus on food preparation and presentation.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and train kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, staff, and management.
