Job Summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Respiratory Therapy Team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer aerosolized medications and medical gases to patients as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform routine tracheostomy care and weaning, as well as assemble and assure safety and proper functioning of all equipment and supplies necessary for providing respiratory care.
  • Document results, findings, and assessments in the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Assess pulmonary mechanics using portable spirometry devices and respond to cardiopulmonary arrests and rapid response calls.
  • Provide education to patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team about routine respiratory procedures, medications, modalities, and disease processes.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 2-year American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Care Program or currently enrolled in an AMA RCP.
  • No previous respiratory care experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BLS - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support from the American Heart Association.
  • RCP - Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in CA required.
