Job Summary

The Limited Radiographer at Great Plains Health is responsible for performing specialized radiographic procedures in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards of care. This role involves completing medical radiography on limited regions of the human anatomy, excluding computed tomography, contrast media, and fluoroscopic or mammographic equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, the ability to obtain diagnostic images, and provide routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care.

Key Responsibilities

Reviews patient history and reason for examination, interpreting information to evaluate appropriateness of examination ordered
Performs venipuncture on patients receiving examinations requiring intravenous contrast media
Operates equipment in compliance with manufacturing specifications, selecting proper technical factors based on patient body habitus, pathology, age, and physical abilities and limitations
Provides radiation protection for patients and fellow employees, considering age-specific issues related to radiation protection
Prepares completed images for reading by interpreting physician, demonstrating competency in using all software applications necessary in the completion of the examination

Requirements

High School degree or equivalent required
Associates Degree/Limited Scope Radiographer post-secondary program
Current State of NE Limited Radiographer license
Limited Radiographer certificate from the Limited Scope Radiographer Program required
BLS certification required

Working Conditions

The Limited Radiographer will work in a fast-paced environment, frequently standing, walking, bending, stooping, and crouching. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds waist to shoulder height frequently and carry up to 10# 100 feet occasionally is required. The ideal candidate will also possess strong manual dexterity and the ability to push and pull 20 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently.
