Position Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for conducting routine and emergency MRI scanning procedures while adhering to high safety standards associated with magnetic fields. This role embodies the core values and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive Magnetic Resonance Imaging services in accordance with established protocols.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all relevant procedures, tailored to the diverse age groups of patients, including infants, children, adults, adolescents, and seniors.
  • Provide patient education prior to procedures, ensuring all inquiries are addressed.
  • Conduct thorough prescreening of patients through interviews with patients and/or their families.
  • Utilize computer systems to optimize scan quality for accurate diagnostic outcomes.
  • Administer contrast agents as per departmental guidelines, documenting all necessary information and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
  • Relay patient needs and significant assessment details to radiologists and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely computer records, including exam status updates, billing adjustments, patient tracking, and appropriate coding.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper stocking of the MRI Suite, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Prepare and verify the functionality of equipment required for daily operations, conducting quality assurance checks.
  • Report any equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and care plans with nursing staff, physician offices, and other diagnostic imaging departments.
  • Understand and comply with fire, disaster, and safety regulations relevant to the work environment.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college is required.
  • Military training is accepted.
Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • BCLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • ARRT certification is mandatory.
  • MRI Registry (MR) through ARRT must be obtained within the first year of employment.
