Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at an Oncology Clinic in Southern California. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent patient services, addressing patients with a compassionate, friendly, and caring attitude.
  • Accurately collect and record patients' vital statistics, allergies, medications, and concerns.
  • Prepare exam rooms, stock and maintain supplies and equipment, and ensure a clean and organized environment.
  • Effectively assist with prescriptions and authorizing drug refill requests.
  • Triage messages, route, and relay information to staff, providers, and patients in a timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed notes in patients' electronic records.
  • Maintain confidentiality for patients in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including back-up infusion room medical assistant duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited education institution.
  • Current CPR certification a plus.
  • California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license a plus.
  • Two years of work experience in venipuncture.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service background, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Competence with computer processing functions and other standard office equipment.
