Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced back office environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in coordinating patient care and flow, ensuring seamless interactions between patients, providers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care and flow, ensuring timely and efficient interactions between patients, providers, and staff.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain brief histories, and vital signs, and enter data into the Electronic Health Record system (EHR).
  • Assist providers with procedures, including preparing patients for exams, as necessary.
  • Perform patient-specific tasks for providers after patient visits.
  • Work with diabetic patients and those with chronic conditions to improve self-management skills.
  • Provide education to patients on diabetes, asthma, and other chronic conditions, as directed by providers.
  • Verify completion of standing orders.
  • Complete consent forms, patient education, and referral materials as necessary.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms before, after, and at the end of each clinic session.
  • Assist with reviewing the next week's schedule to ensure necessary supplies are in stock for procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of e-prescribing tasks and assigned tasks in EHR.
  • Review EHR tasks at the end of each visit, assisting providers with pending tasks.
  • Maintain accurate EHR records, following policies and procedures.
  • Assist laboratory staff as needed.
  • Receive and complete medical records requests according to policies and procedures.
  • Scan medical reports from outside providers into EHR for review and approval by referring providers.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Check email regularly to stay informed of day-to-day functions and important communications with administration and clinic staff.
Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in a fast-paced environment, handling 20-40 patients daily, depending on the site. Team collaboration is essential, and the primary demographic is Spanish-speaking patients.
