Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance Inspector in our machine shop, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and precision of our products. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the company's quality standards while safeguarding its operational assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyze technical drawings and specifications for the final inspection of components.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to assess product quality.
  • Evaluate incoming materials and assemblies, approving or rejecting them based on compliance with established specifications. Segregate non-conforming items and notify the relevant departments.
  • Conduct in-process inspections of production parts, verifying dimensions against specifications as required.
  • Record all inspection findings in the designated in-process and final inspection documentation.
  • Ensure that all quality control measures are executed prior to the release of finished products from the shop.
  • Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for items that do not meet specifications, summarizing defects and communicating findings to production supervisors and engineering teams for resolution.
  • Maintain and regularly update the calibration log for all measuring instruments used in the shop and during final inspections.
  • Assist in completing hydro reports as part of operational support.
  • Approve or reject finished products and compile final inspection reports.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in quality inspection is preferred.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers is essential.
  • A collaborative team player capable of working effectively with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in word processing and Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
