Position Overview
The Transportation Services Supervisor I (TSS I) plays a pivotal role in the Department of Transportation, reporting directly to the Chief of Revenue Forecasting and Financial Analysis Branch. This position is responsible for overseeing the formulation of various state transportation and program fund projections, including but not limited to the State Transportation Improvement Program, Aeronautics Fund, Active Transportation Program, and Trade Corridor Enhancement Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the development of financial estimates related to state transportation initiatives.
- Forecast revenue streams, expenditures, inflation rates, and construction costs.
- Analyze the implications of financial data on various funds.
- Utilize statistical techniques to create and refine financial models.
- Monitor actual revenue and expenditure against established forecasts and recommend enhancements to methodologies.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in computer applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written communication skills and familiarity with budget formulation.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, economic theories, statistical analysis, and forecasting methodologies.
- Demonstrated logical reasoning and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Work Environment:
This role is situated in a controlled office environment, with potential telework options available in accordance with departmental policies. Occasional travel may be necessary to fulfill operational requirements.
