Campus Dietician Job Description

Job Summary:

The Marist College Campus Dietician plays a vital role in promoting student wellness and success by providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, and nutritional education and programming. This 12-month position involves working with a diverse student population, including athletes, to enhance their nutritional health and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual nutrition assessments, develops treatment plans, and offers individual nutrition consultations for Marist College students.
  • Collaborates with Health Services, Counseling Services, and Athletics to develop effective referral and data collection processes.
  • Develops and implements screening programs for early detection of and early intervention for nutrition and energy balance concerns in high-risk athletes.
  • Leads Marist College efforts in creating and incorporating nutritional education and programming to enhance the role of good nutrition and healthy eating in student success and wellness.
  • Provides nutrition education and coaching to Division 1 athletic teams, grounded in evidence-based practices and targeted to the unique needs of each sport.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in clinical nutrition and nutrition education.
  • Clinical treatment of eating disorders and REDS; exercise and performance nutrition and clinical sports nutrition.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education Health and Wellness and/or Athletics settings.
  • Master's degree.
