Culinary Specialist

Job Summary

As a Culinary Specialist at Health Alliance, you will be responsible for preparing hot food for patients, cafeteria, and special events. This role requires maintaining a clean and sanitary work station, adhering to established food handling procedures, and ensuring that all food items are ready at designated serving times.

Responsibilities

Prepares appropriate quantities of food in accordance with daily food tallies and consults with Nutrition staff and Resource Center staff to verify quantities as needed.

Completes all assigned temperature logs and production sheets, and assures that all foods meet standards of taste and appearance and are served at the proper temperatures.

Demonstrates the ability to maintain foods at proper established temperatures to prevent bacterial contamination throughout the preparation process, and assures that established safe food handling procedures are followed at all times.

Stores all foods by properly wrapping, labeling, and dating all items, and checks daily for the need to utilize leftovers to minimize waste.

Requirements

Two years cooking experience preferred in an institutional food service setting.

High School Diploma or GED.

Serve Safe certification preferred.
