About the Role

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a highly skilled Diversity and Belonging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Admissions and Student Experience Team, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity across our medical student community.

As a Diversity and Belonging Specialist, you will work closely with faculty and staff to develop and implement DEI initiatives, assess learner needs, and design solutions to promote a sense of belonging among our students. You will also provide individual and small group advising, leadership development, and mentoring to community-based student groups, as well as school-wide programming to support diversity objectives and wellness principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement DEI initiatives to promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity
  • Assess learner needs and design solutions to promote a sense of belonging among students
  • Provide individual and small group advising, leadership development, and mentoring to community-based student groups
  • Develop and implement school-wide programming to support diversity objectives and wellness principles
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement curricular development through a DEI lens
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of DEI principles, policies, and practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team
