We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our team at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA). As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software solutions for the Intelligence and Defense communities. You will work closely with senior software engineers to assist with routine assignments and apply your knowledge of operating systems and programming languages to well-defined problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software solutions for the Intelligence and Defense communities
  • Assist senior software engineers with routine assignments
  • Apply knowledge of operating systems and programming languages to well-defined problems
  • Prepare and generate technical reports and other documentation pertinent to the position

Requirements:

  • US citizenship with an active Secret security clearance
  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Information Technology
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong foundation in software development and experience with Python, Java, and/or C++
  • Team player with excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience in cloud-based, parallel, or distributed computing
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and modern C++
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new domains
