Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our team of talented software engineers and ensure quality engineering support to programs, IRADs, and new business pursuits in the Mission Planning and Decision Support (MPDS) Operating Unit.

The selected candidate will provide functional leadership to the team in a strong engineering organization, collaborating with peers across multiple organizations.

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance.

The candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.

Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide functional leadership to the team in a strong engineering organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering development projects
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) clearance
  • Experience in managing or coordinating the implementation and delivery of sophisticated software systems in support of Government customers
  • Previous experience in people and/or technical leadership roles
  • Experience developing cost estimates for government customers
  • Proposal development experience
  • Experience working on Agile teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with subcontractors
  • Experience with Cost Account Management
  • Knowledge of NASIC contracting process and procedures
  • Program Management experience working with National Air Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Air Combat Command (ACC), or Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
  • Business development experience
  • Experience leading a team in the Engineering department of a matrix-like organization
  • Experience leading engineering teams using Agile processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment processes and tools

Salary Range:

$138,100 - $207,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
