Your Role and Contribution
The Survey Project Manager will oversee and direct survey teams and office personnel to ensure that projects meet technical, budgetary, and timeline objectives. This role involves collaboration with various departments and project team members. The Project Surveyor is tasked with ensuring adherence to federal, state, local, and corporate regulations and requirements, managing a specific discipline within a multi-disciplinary project.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate projects for compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Develop project scopes and fee structures for small to moderate-sized initiatives.
- Maintain client communication and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Ensure all work complies with company standard QA/QC procedures.
- Identify opportunities for new projects and assist in developing leads into business opportunities.
- Prepare clear and concise written communications for both internal and external audiences.
- Provide time estimates for work tasks to assist in proposal preparation.
- Build a network of professional contacts through participation in thought leadership, civic, and technical organizations.
- Review calculations and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee all technical aspects of projects, ensuring overall quality and completeness of work.
- Guide, mentor, and evaluate team members.
- Coordinate project submittals and other essential components.
- Assist with internal training programs as necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant job experience.
- Licensure/Certification: A valid Professional Surveyor's License in Ohio is required; additional state licenses are advantageous.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Surveying software.
- Experience with Terrestrial LiDAR and UAV technology is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Strong teamwork skills, self-motivation, and a desire for professional growth.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A valid Driver's License is required.
