Instrument Operator - Land Survey

We are seeking a skilled Instrument Operator to join our Land Surveying team. As an Instrument Operator, you will be responsible for planning and organizing field surveys, including preparing equipment and labor-intensive tasks such as clearing brush, laying out stakes, and transporting equipment. You will also operate survey vehicles, robotic total stations, and GPS receivers, and record detailed notes and diagrams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organize field surveys, including preparing equipment
  • Operate survey vehicles, robotic total stations, and GPS receivers
  • Record detailed notes and diagrams
  • Conduct land records research
  • Perform ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and engineering surveys
  • Conduct construction and utility surveying and staking
  • Perform boundary & retraction surveys
  • Verify aerial control LiDAR
  • Conduct topographic survey & utility mapping
  • Acquire plats
  • Conduct flood mapping & cross sections
  • Perform preliminary D.O.T. surveys


Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in land surveying preferred, but no experience will be considered
  • Ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods of time in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
  • Strong team player with effective internal & external communication skills
