Position Overview:

The Vice President of Sustainable Energy Solutions will lead and provide strategic direction for all facets of our Low Carbon Business portfolio, including CO2 pipelines, sequestration, and other innovative solutions aimed at minimizing the carbon footprint of conventional energy resources. This role will involve collaboration across commercial development, project execution, and operational teams to ensure effective integration of solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion safe and efficient practices throughout all phases of asset development and delivery.
  • Recommend and implement technically sound, risk-based designs for projects to ensure a solid foundation for construction and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory approvals for projects and operations.
  • Oversee adherence to project schedules and budgets, initiating corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure adequate manpower and resources are available to meet development objectives within approved budgets.
  • Lead the planning and execution of project and engineering strategies to support project goals.
  • Define staffing needs and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Prepare and evaluate RFQs, participate in contractor selection, and support contract execution.
  • Engage in negotiations with vendors for equipment and services, addressing budget, schedule, and quality issues.
  • Coordinate design efforts with vendors to ensure comprehensive integration.
  • Conduct strategic project risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize appropriate systems and tools to measure project performance and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Prepare updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commit to health, community, and environmental protection, taking proactive measures against unsafe practices.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to foster positive relationships and represent Tallgrass positively.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in managing complex development projects across various sectors, including safety, compliance, design, and construction.
  • Proven leadership experience with diverse technical teams and successful management of capital projects.
  • A comprehensive understanding of global energy markets, with specific knowledge of green and blue ammonia markets being advantageous.
  • Experience in midstream transportation and gas markets.
  • Expertise in managing EPC projects from conceptualization through to operational phases.
  • A strong focus on customer satisfaction and project performance.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Solid understanding of risk management and contract negotiation.
  • A reputation for integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to inspire trust and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
