Structural Analysis Expert for New Shepard Program

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Expert to join our New Shepard program team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing detailed structural analysis and verification activities for various structures and systems on the New Shepard reusable launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed hand calc and FEM analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures
  • Document stress analysis to support release of engineering drawings/documents
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in repair methods and analytical practices for composite and metallic structures
  • Provide technical guidance on design concepts (risk vs. cost vs. performance)
  • Maintain and report on technical status
  • Support cross-organizational teams with input for production activities and configuration development

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience within the fields of aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures
  • Proficiency with analysis codes such as Optistruct ANSYS and Altair Hyperworks
  • Strong experience with classical and aerospace analysis methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, Blodgett, Mark's Shigley, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across a diverse team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with composite failure modes and standard test methods
  • Experience with analyzing/dispositioning non-conformances
  • Experience and understanding of Non-Destructive Evaluation techniques
