Position Overview: Anatomic Pathology Assistant

In this role, you will work under the guidance of an Anatomic Pathologist, focusing on the processing of surgical tissue specimens, aiding in the education of pathology residents, and participating in quality assurance initiatives.

To excel in this position, you should be capable of performing all essential tasks effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Proficient computer skills for data management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools
  • Understanding of quality, safety, and compliance standards
  • Ability to manage stress effectively
  • Willingness to work in environments with potential exposure to chemicals and pathogens

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct gross examinations and tissue dissections under supervision
  • Ensure accurate specimen labeling and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with frozen section procedures and tissue triage
  • Provide training and support to laboratory staff and residents
  • Gather quality assurance data and maintain thorough records

Qualifications:

Required: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
