About the School
The School of Child and Family Sciences, part of the College of Education and Human Sciences, provides a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Studies with specializations in family sciences and child development, including teacher preparation for early childhood education. The undergraduate program is accredited by the American Association for Family and Consumer Sciences. The School also offers a COAMFTE accredited Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Master of Science in Child and Family Sciences, and a Master of Education in School Counseling. Both the Bachelor and Master programs are CFLE-Approved by the National Council on Family Relations. The School operates two auxiliary units: the NAEYC Accredited Center for Child Development and the University Clinic for Family Therapy. Program delivery methods include face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.

Job Responsibilities
The School of Child and Family Sciences seeks an Instructor for the academic year. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to campus engagement.

Key Duties
  1. Delivering instruction in both face-to-face and online formats.
  2. Engaging in school initiatives aimed at enhancing student success, including curriculum development, advising, and assessment.
  3. Maintaining teaching proficiency through participation in professional development and integrating current technology and research into course materials.
  4. Contributing to the mission of the school, college, and university through service activities.
  5. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
An earned master's degree in Human Development and Family Science or a related field.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility in approach and adaptability to various situations.
Preferred Qualifications
A graduate degree from a COAMFTE accredited marriage and family therapy program. Eligibility for licensure as an LMFT in Mississippi.
