About the Opportunity

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform cleaning and sterilization techniques in accordance with established standards of practice.
  2. Ensure all surgical instrument sets are clean, complete, functioning correctly, and sterile.
  3. Monitor shift operations to ensure adherence to Sterile Processing standard procedures.
  4. Manage information and staff to establish priorities for effective time and resource utilization.
  5. Use supplies and linen efficiently to facilitate quality care and cost efficiency.
  6. Encourage cooperation and teamwork between staff and departments.
  7. Seek additional educational opportunities and share knowledge with new employees.
  8. Document sterile processes in log books and ensure accuracy of all documentation.
  9. Communicate effectively with customers, anticipate needs, and resolve opportunities quickly and efficiently.
  10. Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Vail Health Values.
Requirements
  • Two years of Sterile Processing experience and experience with Joint Commission requirements.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification.
  • Ability to possess or obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements and access online forms and policies.
