About the Opportunity

The Sterile Processing/OR Liaison position provides direct support to the Operating Room department. Key responsibilities include reviewing OR schedules and instrument reports, managing instrument and supply issues, and serving as a fully functional technician in the Sterile Processing department as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews weekly and daily OR schedules and instrument reports to determine instrument need and tray conflicts
  • Manages instrument and supply issues or conflicts, and completes the needs list for the next day's cases
  • Serves as a fully functional technician in the Sterile Processing department as needed, demonstrating advanced knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical instruments
  • Serves as the primary representative of the Sterile Processing department through a collaborative working relationship with Operating Room staff to identify process improvement needs
  • Assumes charge responsibility in the absence of the SPD Lead or supervisor
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Sterile Processing
  • CRCST/CSPDT certification required
  • CIC/CSIS (Instrument specialist certification) preferred
