Job Summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and services to our residents by administering medication and treatments in a safe and organized manner.

Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Provide the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe and organized manner.
  • Documentation and Communication: Review, read, and document medication administration records, and communicate with Resident Care Directors and Wellness Nurses to ensure accurate and timely medication administration.
  • Medication Management: Ensure that medications are passed according to schedule, and document and report any medication refusals or missed doses.
  • Confidentiality and Safety: Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, including medication records, and ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in daily Cross Over meetings, and contribute to the development of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates.
  • Risk Management and General Safety: Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements, and report any accidents or incidents immediately.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications may be required in certain states or provinces.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents, react calmly in difficult situations, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required.
