Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and treatments to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans.
  • Review and document medication administration records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure seamless medication management and communication.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in daily Cross Over meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination with the care team.
  • Develop and maintain Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates to ensure resident-centered care.
  • Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and concerns to the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, including the medication room and carts.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications and ongoing training may be required per state or provincial regulations.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain a high level of organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
