Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medication Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans.
- Review and document medication administration records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure seamless medication management and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in daily Cross Over meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination with the care team.
- Develop and maintain Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates to ensure resident-centered care.
- Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and concerns to the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, including the medication room and carts.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications and ongoing training may be required per state or provincial regulations.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
- Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
- Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain a high level of organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
