This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Project Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and operations of various projects, including local protection projects, maintenance dredging, erosion repair, and FUSRAP HTRW Remediation Projects.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze contractor plans and submittals for approval action, including progress schedules, environmental, safety, and quality control programs.
- Develop Quality Assurance Plans for specific projects and ensure that QA Plans are implemented in accordance with regulations.
- Prepare, facilitate, and record Preconstruction and Progress meetings; attend and participate in coordination, preparatory, and safety meetings.
- Supervise and conduct detailed inspections of construction activities.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in civil engineering and contract administration. You should have excellent communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Applicants must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience, and if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized ExperienceGS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, including maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers, reviewing and evaluating the work of team members and engineers, and ensuring that project reports, documents, contract plans, and specifications follow policies, regulations, or guidance.

EducationApplicants must meet the basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management, which include a professional engineering degree or a combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is also acceptable.
