Education Specialist

New Oakland Family Centers is seeking an experienced Education Specialist to join our team. This is a part-time position that will assist with the special and educational needs of consumers participating in our FACE to FACE Partial Hospital Day Program.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with clinical staff to provide feedback and guidance related to education needs. They will also collaborate with school staff, consumers, and families as required. The role involves providing educational services in accordance with Oakland Schools' Aspire Program policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver educational services to consumers with disabilities, utilizing specialized teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless delivery of education and therapy services.
- Attend meetings with school staff, consumers, and families to discuss education-related matters.
- Document progress toward IEP Goals and Objectives, submitting reports to administration as required.
- Support students and parents with student placement, curriculum, and instructional issues.
- Maintain accurate records and submit required reports to administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Teaching Certificate and Special Education Endorsement in Learning Disabilities highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in basic computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Approved driving record required.
