About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Testing Assistant Team Leader to join our team at ECS Limited. As a key member of our Field Services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites.
  • Inventory maintenance and organization of supplies; Calibration and maintenance of field equipment to include keeping accurate records.
  • Promote safety and safety culture; Ensure proper PPE is used on project sites; Assist with company required safety training.
  • Daily communication with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; Collaborate with Team Leaders to support scheduling operations and recruiting to maintain appropriate staff among your team.
  • Actively mentor and train junior field staff as they grow in their careers; Provide support to project managers and department manager as needed; Attend project meetings as requested.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Must have and be willing to maintain basic certifications.
  • Advanced certifications may be required based on the work performed.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Good understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
  • Proficient at data interpretation and evaluation of CMT techniques and results.
