Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Management Supervisor to join our team at Broward County Florida. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex capital projects, including planning, design, and construction. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor construction contractors and consultants
  • Develop, administer, and negotiate construction and consultant contracts
  • Coordinate stakeholders, including user and County agencies, County Attorneys, Purchasing, Small Business Division, Building Departments, FDOT, and other regulatory agencies
  • Supervise other project managers and engineering technicians
  • Perform reviews and oversight of projects managed by subordinates
  • Review plans and specifications, engineering calculations, pay applications, invoices, and Florida Building Code
  • Resolve design and construction-related issues
  • Negotiate fees and scope with consultants
  • Design projects, sign, and seal construction documents, permit applications, and reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in architecture and/or engineering or closely related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Requires six (6) years in professional architectural or engineering work, including four (4) years of experience in project management and supervision of staff appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience
  • Registration as a professional architect or registered engineer
  • Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Design, Master Planning, or closely related field
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Certified Master Planner
  • Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) certification and/or Emergency Management certification
  • Licensed Interior Designer or NCIDQ certification
  • Five (5) years of experience in accounting principles relative to project budgeting and project cost controls
  • Five (5) years of experience supervising and managing all phases of multiple vertical mid-scale construction projects concurrently
  • Five (5) years of experience in government contract procurement and management of complex, large-scale vertical construction projects and experience in public sector construction project management
  • Five (5) years of experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • LEED Accreditation designation and experience
  • Current registration as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer
Work Environment

This is a light work position that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands, or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
