Construction Site Supervisor

As a Site Supervisor at Best Roofing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects are managed to the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards. Reporting directly to the Sr. Construction Manager, you will effectively oversee field operations, enforce company standards, and ensure project success through diligent management and communication with subcontractors, external and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and enforce subcontractor quality of work to meet Best Roofing standards.
- Conduct daily probing of seams and inspection of penetrations.
- Ensure all work is completed without leaving any temporary fixes.
- Regularly inspect tie-ins to maintain structural integrity.
- Provide effective job site management by enforcing Best Roofing's housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and organized job site.
- Manage the daily inventory of Best Roofing materials and equipment to ensure availability, storage, and proper usage.
- Ensure all proof of delivery (POD's) are promptly sent to the Construction Manager, after receiving and verifying.
- Coordinate daily communication regarding work areas with any tenants and/or clients to ensure minimal disruption.
- Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for consultants and city inspectors, facilitating clear and concise communication.
- Act as the daily onsite liaison for subcontractors, addressing their needs and ensuring adherence to project plans.
- Provide daily documentation of project progress through pictures and videos in Company Cam or as otherwise requested.
- Ensure proper equipment and resource management by proactively providing maintenance and availability of equipment, including fuel, oil, and necessary maintenance supplies.
- Maintain company equipment and assigned vehicles to Best Roofing's standards.
- Coordinate with the Construction Manager to schedule crane and dumpster switch-outs as needed.
- Supervise project safety setup and ensure daily execution of safety protocols and compliance.
- Enforce subcontractor adherence to Best Roofing's standards, including apparel rules and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety huddles and ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations with RCCS, OSHA and Best Roofing's Best Practices.
- Record daily work hours using AboutTime software, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Compile and submit detailed reports, pictures and forms on compliance, safety, and project progress, including any issues or delays encountered.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Provide guidance and support to subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment in alignment with project goals and Best Roofing's standards.
- Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to prevent project delays, by maintaining constant communication with Construction Leadership, addressing any onsite conflicts or challenges, maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally in partnership with Construction and Project Managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project success and company goals.
- Achievement of all quality, safety, and productivity objectives on your projects.
- Timely and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- High standards of site cleanliness and orderliness.
- Positive feedback from clients, tenants, inspectors, and internal stakeholders/leadership.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably within commercial roofing and at least 1 year of experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and equipment with proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
- Good math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and plan for unforeseen challenges and strong decision-making capabilities, especially under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain positive client relationships.
- Ability to provide clear instructions and follow up in a timely manner with subcontractors, team members, and clients or tenants.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain detailed records and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with strong attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of the project are completed to the highest standard.
