About the Role

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to lead our Global Protect business unit. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for securing significant financial resources to support our conservation goals and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to achieve annual goals of $10 million in gifts and pledges, with a focus on securing 7-figure+ philanthropic gifts from individuals and foundations.
  • Lead and manage a team of fundraisers to execute on the fundraising plan and support a networked approach to fundraising for Global Protect priorities.
  • Motivate a multi-disciplinary network of staff and volunteers to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors, with a focus on growing the donor prospect pipeline for Protect.
  • Ensure responsiveness to donors and fundraisers throughout TNC related to engaging them in TNC Global Protect priorities.
  • Track and monitor fundraising progress against goals, and lead feasibility analysis to adjust the fundraising plan accordingly.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in fundraising and development, with a track record of securing significant gifts and pledges.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of fundraisers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve annual goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to track and monitor fundraising progress and adjust the plan accordingly.
