Role Overview:
The Volunteer Program Manager will oversee all aspects of Volunteer Services for Children's Hospital Fox Valley, including staffing and operational hours, while aligning with the CHW Foundation and Family Partners Program. This role involves collaborating with leadership from Patient Amenities and Family Services, as well as other hospital departments, to assess volunteer requirements and assist in the placement and supervision of volunteers throughout the organization.

Additionally, the manager will work closely with Child Life to coordinate special events and manage donations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote the significance of the volunteer program within the health system and the broader community through resource sharing, presentations, and recruitment initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.
- Certification in Volunteer Administration Services (CAVS) must be obtained within two years of employment.
- A minimum of four years of experience in volunteer services, preferably in a leadership role within a healthcare setting or community organization.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are essential for fostering collaboration with colleagues, donors, and community organizations, as well as for understanding the invaluable contributions of volunteers to our hospital.

Knowledge of child development, including the needs of children with varying abilities, is crucial for guiding interactions across different age groups.

Additional Skills:
- Extensive experience in developing customer service programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A collaborative spirit, adaptability to the evolving landscape of Volunteer Services, and excellent organizational abilities are vital for success in this role.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
