Job Summary:

The Hazardous Materials Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials to various client locations. This role involves driving to multiple job sites to collect waste products such as oil, antifreeze, and oily water, ensuring their delivery to designated disposal facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial vehicles and related equipment in a safe manner.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and company guidelines.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including manifests and shipping records.
  • Ensure loads are secured properly during transit.
  • Handle loading and unloading of materials, which may include hazardous substances.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, supervisors, and team members.
  • Exercise sound judgment in both emergency and routine situations.
  • Maintain contact with supervisors via phone or radio.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Qualifications:

Must possess a Class A CDL with Haz Mat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements, along with TSA clearance for transporting hazardous materials.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with relevant experience or training. A clean driving record is essential, with no more than two moving violations in the past three years. Candidates must not have any DUI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years and must have a clean history regarding random drug tests.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to undergo training in hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.

Physical Demands:

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, including standing, sitting, reaching, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds regularly.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including outdoor weather, vibrations, and mechanical parts.
