Job Title: RMA Tech (Backplanes)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced RMA Tech (Backplanes) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing incoming evaluation, inspection, and testing of circuit boards (PCBs) received from systems (internal) and customers, using approved testing procedures and schematics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of returned circuit boards, applying knowledge of assembly IPC standards and customer requirements.
  • Compare findings after evaluation against internal or customer feedback to determine the root cause of failure.
  • Perform necessary rework and/or repair to the RMA backplanes with manufacturing support as required.
  • Conduct inspection and testing of the backplanes after rework.
  • Find solutions for troubleshooting backplanes.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing the type and quantity of defects detected during evaluation.
  • Work with quality to issue internal corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Communicate with customers on testing and RMA issues.
Requirements:
  • Current or past certification for IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • ERP software Microsoft D365 is a plus.
  • Experience using production and inventory management software such as MES/ERP.
  • Good understanding of basic electronics concepts.
  • Able to test backplanes of any complexity.
  • Able to determine the nature and the cause of a backplane failure at testing and solve the problem.
  • Knowledge in P-CAD and Mentor Expedition viewers.
  • Experience with troubleshooting backplanes.
  • Able to interpret and utilize schematics.
  • Excellent vision and color vision capabilities.
Preferred Education/Certifications:
  • Associate's degree in electronics from a two-year college or technical school, equivalent military electronics school(s) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Targeted Compensation:

$ an hour, dependent upon experience.
