Electronics Engineer - Backplane Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer - Backplane Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing incoming evaluation, inspection, and testing and repair of circuit boards PCB received from systems (internal), and customer using approved testing procedures and schematics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming evaluation, inspection, and testing of circuit boards PCB.
  • Repair and rework of circuit boards PCB as required.
  • Conduct inspection and testing of backplanes after rework.
  • Find solutions for troubleshooting backplanes.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing the type and quantity of defects detected during evaluation.
  • Work with quality by issuing internal corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Communicate with customers on testing and RMA issues.
Requirements
  • Current or past certification for IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • ERP software Microsoft D365 is a plus.
  • Experience using production and inventory management software such as MES/ERP.
  • Good understanding of basic electronics concepts.
  • Able to test backplanes of any complexity.
  • Able to determine the nature and the cause of a backplane failure at testing and solve the problem.
Preferred Education/Certifications
  • Associate's degree in electronics from a two-year college or technical school, equivalent military electronics school(s) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs).
