The Opportunity:
The Senior Vice President, U.S. Market Access and Patient Services is a pivotal leadership role responsible for enhancing access to our groundbreaking therapies. This position will oversee market access, patient services, and distribution functions within the U.S. commercial team, reporting directly to the regional general manager and playing a vital role in the U.S. commercial leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate efficient patient access to our rare disease therapies by ensuring seamless product distribution, reimbursement, and adherence support through established channels.
- Lead the U.S. Market Access team and establish a pricing committee in collaboration with commercial operations, recommending pricing strategies aligned with company values and objectives.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create payer marketing materials that resonate with our brand strategy.
- Develop compelling value propositions that highlight the clinical and economic advantages of our therapies.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) to generate comprehensive data packages that support payer decision-making.
- Partner with global market access teams to create AMCP dossiers, budget impact models, and cost-effectiveness analyses.
- Build and lead a high-performing field access team focused on optimizing patient access through collaboration with commercial and government payers.
- Implement strategies to ensure optimal access for patients at specialty clinics and infusion centers.
- Design and deliver educational programs for healthcare providers on patient identification, coding, and billing.
- Oversee the development of Avidity's Patient Services team and collaborate with marketing leadership to establish a branded patient services program.
- Manage relationships with key partners, including 3PL, distributors, specialty pharmacies, and hub services.
- Ensure compliance with all local and national regulations, including state licensures and healthcare laws.
- Stay informed about evolving market access trends and regulations to identify opportunities for Avidity.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- 15+ years of commercial and launch experience across multiple functions, with at least 10 years in payer relations, trade/distribution, and patient services.
- Experience in building patient services teams from the ground up is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the services landscape, including hubs, specialty pharmacies, and distributors.
- Proven relationships with third-party payers, distribution networks, and healthcare systems.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively and drive consensus.
- Market access and management experience at a senior level.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
