Early Childhood Education Assistant

Under the direction of an assigned teacher, assist in the supervision and instruction of students in a childcare setting. Participate in and lead students in various educational activities, including crafts, play, and games. Maintain accurate attendance records and assist with homework and other activities as needed.
Responsibilities- Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources.
- Assist children with homework and various indoor and outdoor activities.
- Prepare and serve snacks and meals, and set tables according to teacher instructions.
- Instruct children on proper hand-washing techniques and assist with bathroom facilities as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including washing dishes, clearing lunch tables, cleaning mats and workstations, and sweeping floors.
- Maintain the classroom in a safe, sanitary, and orderly condition.
- Education/Experience: Equivalent to a high school diploma and completion of 12 Early Childhood Education units, with at least one year of experience working with children in an organized setting.
- Knowledge/Ability: Knowledge of childcare equipment, supplies, and materials; basic record-keeping techniques; sanitation practices related to food handling and serving.
- Licenses/Other: Possession of or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment First Aid and CPR Certificates issued by an authorized agency.
- Submit copies of transcripts.
- Pass a fingerprint/background clearance, drug screening, and tuberculosis test by a district-approved physician.
