AOD Counselor Assistant

Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential treatment services and outpatient counseling to individuals throughout Los Angeles.

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate AOD Support Staff II, Registered - MC to join our team. As a key member of our program, you will provide essential support services to beneficiaries participating in treatment while ensuring the safety and security of our program premises.

• AOD Counseling: Under the guidance of a certified AOD counselor, you will learn and assist with alcohol and drug counseling functions, including screening, assessment, and intake. You will also collaborate with case managers and therapists to assist with treatment plans and participate in group and educational sessions.
• Program Security: You will be responsible for monitoring program entrances and exits, searching participants' belongings, and maintaining the security of our premises. You will also report any suspicious events or incidents to your supervisor.
• Program Safety: You will ensure the safe operation of our program premises by monitoring for any hazards or defects and reporting them to your supervisor. You will also be prepared to assist participants in case of an emergency.
• Client Support: You will provide support to clients, including answering phones, taking messages, and monitoring doors. You will also assist with meal preparation and serving, setting up for classes and meetings, and other program events.

• High School diploma or GED
• Registered and in good standing in an Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certification program
• Completed statutory AOD coursework requirements
• 1 year of experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment
