Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Atlantic Group. As a key member of our Legal department, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our company.

About the Role

The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for assessing, composing, negotiating, and monitoring distribution and placement agent contracts with external intermediaries both domestically and internationally. This will involve serving as an intermediary between the firm and counterparties to finalize distribution agreements and other time-sensitive matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Assess, compose, negotiate, and monitor distribution and placement agent contracts with external intermediaries.
  • Intermediary Services: Serve as an intermediary between the firm and counterparties to finalize distribution agreements and other time-sensitive matters.
  • Due Diligence Support: Draft responses and organize materials in response to due diligence requests.
  • Client-Facing Documentation: Review client-facing documentation and provide day-to-day operations support to the Legal department.
  • Tracker Development: Develop and maintain trackers and materials using data from across the organization.
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements: Review non-disclosure agreements in coordination with external counsel.
  • Team Collaboration: Develop strong working relationships and partnerships with other teams to support client needs.
  • Record-Keeping: Ensure that all Legal team records are stored in secure, organized file systems to support shared knowledge and compliant record-keeping.
  • Special Projects: Perform special projects and other responsibilities for the Legal team.
  • Document Coordination: Coordinate signatures for documents and various materials.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience at a major law firm or in-house legal department, with a minimum of 2+ years experience working on distribution and placement agent agreements at a Financial Services firm.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Salesforce and Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrated drive for results and ability to prioritize risks and projects to focus on what's important in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning and Organization: Excellent planning and organization skills; meticulous attention to detail is a must.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Solutions-oriented problem solver.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done.
  • Team Player: Team player with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to learn more.
